"I'm honoured and delighted to have received the awards. It is an inspiration for my future projects and I hope that it is a motivation for all women. The awards serve as an excellent platform that acknowledges the hard work and talent out there. Being recognised is not only a boost in confidence for me personally but it challenges me to involve and help other women out there to achieve their own goals and pay it forward in their own special way," says van der Westhuizen, darling of South African media, and one who is celebrated for her commitment and passion
She is well known for her work as TV anchor, radio presenter, MC and motivational speaker. But her real passion lies in giving back to the community and her sporting career. She has been the Ambassador for the Sunflower Fund which raises money and awareness for cancer and has cycled her bike to help raise funds for bicycles for the less fortunate.
She is not shy of competition and has completed the hardest canoe race in the world, the Dusi, as well as the Ironman. This is but a short list of her achievements.
