What is the one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
“Hard work buys big houses and fancy cars”- meaning that hard work always gets rewarded.
What is the most-read book on your book shelf?
I’m not a big reader, therefore I think my most read book will be the Bible.
How would you define your style?
Comfortable and easy going.
Has it changed since you have been in the sporting industry?
Probably quite a bit. I never used to wear jeans, I was always the one with shorts on in the winter, however now I think I behave become more refined.
What are 2 of your favourite must-have brands?
That’s a difficult one, I really have a few. But the two brands I have been associated with the longest would be PUMA and FORD.
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t really see myself as a person that is too concerned about a specific style, therefore I don’t really have a style icon.
What's your guiltiest pleasure?
Brandy and Coke.
Who would play you in the film biopic of your life?
Kwagga (Albertus) Smith- people always confuse us so we probably have similar features.
What would the title of your autobiography be and why?
Crouch, Bind, Set.
Everything you do in life requires hard work and dedication in order to move forward no matter how uncomfortable the situation may be you always have to stay in the fight.
If you could raid anyone’s wardrobe, whose would it be?
My wife’s. Just to have a comeback for the next time she says she has nothing to wear.
Where is your favourite place in the world and what makes it so special?
The bushveld, one feels free and in tune with oneself. Its one of those things that a man cannot really explain.
Where is your go-to eating spot in JHB?
JB’s Corner Sandton City.
What do you love most about JHB?
The people and being central to everything.
Which sporting personality has influenced you the most?
Johan Ackerman.

Family and Emirates Airline Park.
