When it comes to accommodation, one is most definitely spoilt for choice. Whilst we have
been fortunate enough to call a number of the hotels “home” for couple of days, it really
comes down to what you, as the consumer are looking for.
Relaxed Space: We highly recommend you book a self-catering 2/3 bedroom villa at the Sun
Vacation Club which boasts a wonderful living area, kitchen and en-suite bathroom, perfect
for any family or group of friends looking to get away for a holiday.

The villa boasts 3 bedrooms that are not only spacious and comfortable, but sleeps 6 people privately and can further accommodate 2 people in the lounge. Making it the perfect friends or family getaway destination.
Let's chat upstairs - The main bedroom has a Queen bed with an outside balcony equipped with 2 sun loungers to catch those morning sun rays and have your coffee whilst watching the incredible animal & bird life walking around freely.
The second and third bedrooms have 2 single beds each and have a shared second bathroom equipped with a bath, shower, basin and toilet.
All three bedrooms have black out curtains and are fully air-conned.
Downstairs, your social areas. This is where you spend time with your guests, loved ones and family. The kitchen is fully equipped with all your cutlery, cooking and crockery needs. Your lounge area that boasts 2 comfy couches and 2 single seats with full DSTV should you need to catch the quick rugby game or check on the Nedbank golf challenge scores. There is an outdoor courtyard to hang up those wet towels from the Valley of the Waves, and dusbin areas so you can take out the trash easily.
The villa is equipped to eat indoors or outdoors. The dining areas cater for weather needs, by having an indoor dining room suite as well as an outside dining area by the built-in braai. Your perfect sundowner spot before you either light up the evening braai or cocktails before hitting the night life on the resort.
You have a guest bathroom downstairs, ample storage space as well as a luggage cupboard tucked neatly underneath the staircase to keep those pesky cooler boxes and luggage hidden away.
They have thought of every need you might have and this makes it the truly best self catering spot in a resort.

Exquisite living: If you’re newly engaged, or prefer opulent living, we highly recommend The
Palace. This is an experience in it’s own. Attention to detail, is out of this world!
Casual Hotel Vibes: If you don’t plan on spending that much time in your room and looking
for a comfortable, luxurious place to rest in the evenings, then the Cabanas are for you! This
hotel was recently revamped and offers a fun sense of style and young vibrant feel.
Action: if you want to be near all the action, get ready to get up in the morning and hit the
Valley of the Waves, then we would highly recommend you book into the Soho hotel, which
serves as the hub for all the hot-and-happening hotspots.
Classic: If you’re looking for that classic, luxury stay; with a little more peace and quiet, yet
still classy and dynamic; we would lead you to the doors of the Cascades, which is one of the
more popular hotels. Adjacent to the Soho hotel, it’s in a prime location and offers all the
necessities for the perfect getaway.
When it comes to an action-filled weekend, one always needs to check-off the following:

Two - When it comes to food, one of the highlights of our trip was eating out at Legends,
which is situated at Soho hotel. The Legends restaurant pays tribute to a visionary
entrepreneur, the many famous stars, personalities, guests and icons that have graced Sun
City over the past 36+ years – what an achievement that shines through in the restaurant.
This restaurant offers guests trendy grill house style food complemented by a diverse drinks
menu to suite an array of tastes, but most importantly, the vibe that was created by their
live music was something we will take away with us as one of the ‘best nights out’. If ever
we throw an event in the nearby future, we want to steal your live performers Sun City!
They were that good.
Three – Overall experience. When it comes to a venue, one wants to feel secure, at ease
about having to drink and drive, and about staying out till all hours.
Sun City is a community; it is not just a vacation spot, but a large family. Once you enter those gates, you immediately become a part of the Sun City family and you join the community which is safe, secure and easy to access.
With running communal buses, you’re able to easily get from A-B, which adds an element of relaxation to your experience and you can go around in your own time without any rush or deadlines. Plus, Sun City is located only 2 hours out of JHB, making it one of the closest travel-to destinations that offers all of the sought-after needs and wants.
